Jesus said, in John 10:10, “I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.” In John 14:12, he said, “ Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.”
When we look at what Jesus did, we see One whose natural state of being is living in what is supernatural. If this is available for us, why don’t we see it more often? Does this attest to a company of unbelieving believers and/or those who are content to settle for the bottom rung of the ladder?
I think it is a shame that Jesus paid such a great price and we have people who are content to believe enough for salvation, stop there and meander through the remainder of their lives, struggling, striving and looking forward to the day they enter Glory. I believe many get there and are shocked to find that they didn’t get all Jesus paid for them to experience in their lifetime, here on Earth. It is equivalent to having an enormous inheritance, just waiting to be claimed but working menial jobs, scraping by, barely making it. It’s stupid and unnecessary.
Jesus did some amazing stuff while here and he said we could do that and more. I want that ‘more’ and I’m experiencing it in increasing measures as I grow more intimate with the Father. There’s so much mystery and amazing to behold… Time miracles, seeing and sensing the physical presence of Jesus and angels, visits to Heaven, seeing sound (nope, not a typo), and so much more. Don’t settle for just enough Christianity. Go for greater intimacy and experience all God has freely given us. He isn’t boring at all. Let’s get what was paid for!
